KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Drafting, reviewing and preparing legal documents.
- Reporting, maintaining, and electronic filing of contracts and legal documentation.
- Monitoring, maintaining, and filing of all new corporate entities.
- Supporting the team with governance matters including corporate records, document management, shareholder and board of director related materials and drafting of basic documents.
- Conducting minute book reviews and maintenance for company records.
- Providing overall support for the legal counsel and Legal, Governance & Compliance Team including monitoring legal invoices and payables, coordinating meetings, monitoring project timelines and email inboxes.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 3 years of related work experience in a corporate paralegal or equivalent role (financial services experience is preferred).
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in a related field and/or a Paralegal Certificate or Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution (preferred)
- A high proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- The ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks and priorities.
- A self-starter demonstrating a high degree of initiative.
Responsibilities:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our growing Legal, Governance and Compliance team. As a Paralegal you will be an integral part of our high performing Legal, Governance and Compliance team, assisting in the preparation of legal documents and supporting with a range of legal governance matters. The location of this role will be a hybrid work schedule based in our Vancouver or Toronto office.
