One of the sunniest regions in BC’s Lower Mainland, Delta embraces three unique communities – Ladner, North Delta and Tsawwassen. The City of Delta is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team and share in our commitment to lead the way in public service excellence.
The City of Delta is seeking individuals on a temporary basis to work evening shifts and weekends starting April through to late September (maximum of 35 hours per week) to fill the role of Parks Patrol Officers.
The successful candidates will patrol parks throughout Delta as directed and work with the public to achieve compliance of the Parks Bylaw, Animal Control Bylaw and Highways Bylaw. You will be trained and authorized to issue warnings or Bylaw Enforcement Notices in relation to specific offences under these Bylaws. Park Patrol Officers will report to the Property Use & Compliance Division.
The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to interact with the public in a diplomatic, tactful, and discreet manner, and to interpret and explain by-laws, policies and regulations is required.
Previous experience in dealing with the public and relevant post-secondary courses is desired. A valid class 5 BC Driver’s Licence in good standing is required, as well as the ability to ride a bicycle off-road. The successful candidate will be required to wear a uniform which will be provided.
