PART-TIME CAMPUS RECREATION ASSISTANT(Job Number: 117-24)

Salary Range: $ 18.95 - $ 26.72 per hour
Hours per week: Up to 24 hours per week (current hours anticipated to be 24 hours per week)
Status: Part-time (Regular)
Located in Barrie and reporting to the Manager, Athletic Operations, the incumbent provides event and administrative support to Recreation Coordinator for campus recreation intramural and extramural activities on the Barrie Campus. This includes supporting the planning, organizing and execution of programming. The position will require ability to work non-traditional hours, evenings, weekends. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successfully completed a two(2)-year postsecondary diploma in sports management or recreation and leisure studies or a related field of study
- Two (2) years of experience required in sports and/or recreational programming, including program design, planning, execution and first point of contact responsibility
- High customer engagement skills
- Penchant for creative thinking
- Capacity to exercise good judgment
- Must display a high degree of professionalism
- Excellent computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and Internet
- Strong organization/communication skills (Oral/Written) with the ability to problem solve quickly in a professional manner
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills with proven public relations abilities
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle unusually high volumes of work with composure and confidence
- Cultural awareness of diversified client groups would be considered an asset
- Post Secondary work experience would be considered an asset
- Valid G Licence required
