Description:

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Ron Joyce Centre for Business Studies/Commerce Department at Mount Allison University invites applications for a part-time stipendiary appointment to teach a course entitled COMM3321 – Human Resources, subject to budgetary approval. This course examines human resource management functions in formal organizations, both public and private. Topics include human resource planning, recruitment, selection, performance appraisal, and employment equity, as well as training and development, compensation systems, the management of employee benefits, and the role of the human resource manager. The course is scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 am to 12:50 pm in the Fall academic term of 2024. The class size is approximately 40 students.
Although the course is scheduled in person on the Sackville (NB) campus, the possibility of delivering the course in a hybrid format (in-person and online) or synchronously online (fully online on the days/times) may be considered.
Candidates must have experience teaching Human Resources at the university level and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate students. Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred. A Ph.D. or master’s degree in management or a related area is preferred. Lastly, professional Human Resource-related experience may also be considered.
