Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
A part time research assistant opportunity is immediately available for a highly self-motivated individual in the laboratory of Prof. Dipanjan Pan, Huck Chair Professor in Nanomedicine in the Huck Institute of Life Sciences at Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) on a NIH funded project.
In a highly multidisciplinary laboratory environment, the candidate will work closely with the PI and other lab members to investigate the effects of various nanoparticles for in vitro and in vivo applications.
Skills that are used in the lab include: nanomaterials synthesis and characterization, translational science, hands-on lab benchwork on cell biology, immunology, and animal tumor models; design and conduct experiments; generate, analyze, and evaluate data present results in an organized manner; learn new techniques and approaches in state-of-the-art materials characterization techniques; stay updated with latest advancement in the field and integrate them into research. Our laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for nanoparticle characterization and has access to world class facilities at the Penn State campus.
Qualifications include:
· Some experience with murine tumor model including mice handling, tumor engraftment, drug administration, tissue dissociation, histopathological analysis (required).
· Experience with cell and molecular biology techniques including cell culture, western blot, and qPCR (required).
· Experience in immunology-related basic techniques such as flow cytometry (required).
· Experience in computational biology, bioinformatics, transcriptomic, proteomic, data analysis (good to have).
· Must be highly self-motivated and hard working (strongly required).
