PART-TIME SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (HYBRID)

Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services BGS, is seeking a Part-Time Software Developer in San Luis Obispo, CA. In this role, you will develop, enhance, and/or maintain software code for our commercial and government programs. This is a part-time role, allowing you to work around your schooling or other obligations while gaining experience on a fielded program.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Experience with Java using Spring/Hibernate.
- Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript using ReactJS/Redux/Sagas.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git)
- Familiarity with code reviews (e.g., Gerrit)
- Familiarity with unit testing and frameworks (e.g., Junit)
- Familiarity with issue and project tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
- Familiarity with build automation tools (e.g., Maven)
- Familiarity with web servers (e.g., Tomcat)
- Familiarity with web services (e.g., SOAP, REST)
- Familiarity with database persistence (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- Familiarity with module bundling (e.g., Webpack)
TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
2+ years of related technical education and/or experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provides assistance to design, program, and execute simple test plans.
- Implements, documents, and maintains basic computing applications.
- Writes and compiles basic code and constructs basic database objects based on documented design.
- Modifies or upgrades applications to maintain software functionality.
