JOB SUMMARY

This is a data science-related summer part-time position at the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Cleans and normalizes data on drug names and drug strength by using RxNorm, which is a website-based tool. For instance, you will search a drug name in RxNorm, and collect normalized information such as generic drug name and strength etc.
• Visualizes data and results by using statistical software. For instance, you will use the software to create scatter plots and pie charts.
• Curates adverse drug events from literature. For instance, you will search the key word “adverse drug event” on GoogleScholar and PubMed, and retrieve the relevant information such as drugs and events.
