Boeing Digital Aviation Solutions, DAS, is currently looking for a Lead Partner Account Manager, Alliances; this is a Virtual position. Boeing’s Digital Aviation Solutions group builds the software and data services that power aviation. With over $1B in revenue and 1200+ employees the Digital Aviation team delivers advanced software and data solutions that optimize the safety and operational efficiency of commercial, business, and general aviation.

  • From electronic flight books that deliver the world’s largest database of navigational data to pilots, to flight planning and crew scheduling, to real-time predictive analytics for optimizing the safety and efficiency of airline operations, the Digital Solutions team is leveraging state-of-the art digital technologies to drive the future of flight.
  • Our global customer base includes commercial airlines, private pilots, business aviation operators, and governments around the world, and our software and data-driven insights support both Boeing and non-Boeing fleets.
  • Our growing solution portfolios leverage cutting-edge digital technologies including AI/ML, cloud, AR/VR, IoT, and avionics combined with our industry-leading knowledge of the physics, materials science, and operational challenges of operating safely and efficiently in the most demanding and innovative aviation market segments.
  • Over the next 5 years, it is expected the DAS business will be significantly transformed, into a self-contained, high-growth software business that operates on a global scale across multiple aviation market segments and becomes a leading contributor to digital transformation at Boeing.
  • In this transformation of DAS, strategic alliances/partnerships, and the ability to quickly integrate into the DAS business architecture will be paramount to its success
  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in leading complex interactions across multiple stakeholders, internal and external, in identifying, fostering, and driving alliance and partnership activity to advance all forms of organic and inorganic growth for the business, including partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures. The candidate will have a broad-based set of business development, relationship incubation and maturation management, and strategy execution in the software industry, with demonstrated acumen in advancing strategic relationships at all levels of external targets and internal stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Experience working in the technology industry; experience with enterprise software businesses and aviation industry
  • Experience building and managing high-performing relationships with stakeholders, customers, and/or partners.
  • 5 years experience in partnership management, business development, or related roles with a track record of successfully establishing and maintaining strategic alliances.
  • Knowledgeable in developing and executing successful alliance strategies and business plans, from deal formation and execution to post-deal integration.
  • Experience navigating and influencing across organizational boundaries to drive consensus and execution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

  • Military background.
  • 10+ years of working in the technology industry; experience with enterprise software businesses and aviation industry.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, financial skills, and strategic thinking.
  • Global experience and ability to understand and thrive in different cultures.
  • Self-driven, ability to work with minimal direction, and thrives in a team environment with proven interpersonal skills and collaborative outcomes.
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to create win-win scenarios in complex partnerships.
  • Experience with a metric-driven mindset and the ability to experiment, learn, and improve
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years’ related work experience, 19 years’ related work experience, etc.)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead overall account relationship with alliance partners, serving as focal point and orchestrator of all key account interactions with the partner.
  • Screens opportunities by understanding company strategy and direction, market direction, deal requirements, and financials.
  • Works with DAS whole offer teams to identify the right opportunities and partner candidates for channel, technical, talent, whole offer, and customers.
  • Drive growth opportunity through mutually beneficial customer engagements, expanding addressable market, leveraging core talent or technical expertise, and combining strength on strength to magnify overall go to market impact.
  • Define engagement strategy and plan through the creation and refinement of an alliance/partner thesis (business plan).
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders including senior leadership, technology, finance, and business teams.
  • Own, manage and track internal partnership success metrics including marketing, engagement reach, innovation, as well as revenue generation and growth.
  • Analyze and understand market trends, competitive landscapes, and potential opportunities for collaboration.
  • Drive internal projects, teams, and dependencies to achieve maximum value generation.
  • Alliances will also be expected to drive or enable at least 20% of DAS growth over the next 5 years.
  • Responsible for accelerating the alliance growth and innovation for DAS across all its business units.
