REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years of experience in automotive parts/customer service, freight forwarding, and forecasting/procurement.
  • BA/BS in Business Administration/Statistics or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in inventory and demand planning in a distribution environment.
  • Proficiency with demand planning software.
  • Prior experience in export shipping and document processing.

Responsibilities:

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The Parts Logistics Specialist is responsible for administering, coordinating, and supporting Parts dept. programs for inbound transportation, vendor and carrier chargeback/claims, and MMNA parts export activities including, but not limited to, processing of export shipment documentation, bill of lading instructions, transportation details, invoices and customer inquiries.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare required export documentation, including packing lists, invoices, bills of lading, air waybills, export declarations, certificates of origin, and insurance certificates.
  • Ensure compliance of export documentation, such as invoices and bills of lading, with shipping regulations.
  • Maintain export customer profiles in MAPS and coordinate updates with MMC.
  • Monitor the status of export orders and coordinate with PDCs and internal departments as needed.
  • Coordinate booking of ocean and air shipments with freight forwarders and trucking companies.
  • Ensure accurate invoicing of export shipments based on terms of sale and export timing.
  • Support export customers on open and backorder parts by working with the PDC and Parts Inventory Dept.
  • Oversee the Non-USA parts order program, including specification, price quotes, inventory management, and order processing within profit margin goals.
  • Ensure compliance with government agencies for SDS and other regulatory information postings.
  • Manage chargebacks and claims for air, scrapped, short, wrong, overage, and damaged shipments related to major parts suppliers, recalls, warranties, and transportation carriers.
  • Negotiate freight claims for damaged goods.
  • Advise suppliers on USMCA requirements and obtain “Certificate of Origin” for eligible parts; maintain and communicate ongoing updates to suppliers and management.
  • Develop and publish weekly and monthly KPIs for Parts Logistics and PDC operations.
  • Create carrier performance report cards for business review meetings.
  • Monitor carrier pick-ups and deliveries in the domestic inbound network, ensuring performance indicators are met.
  • Create reports to monitor and control all aspects of the supply chain, including logistics cost, service standards, and transport plans.
