Description:
Parts Manager
Universal Truck and Trailer is Atlantic Canada’s largest heavy-duty truck and trailer dealership featuring the most up-to-date dealer service bays in Southern New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. We are an authorized sale, service, parts & warranty dealership for premium products including Freightliner and Western Star. In addition, we service all makes and models for class 6, 7 and 8 vehicles, including luxury class RV’s.
We are currently looking a Parts Manager to join our Charlottetown team. The successful candidate will be for an enthusiastic, detail orientated, people person, who is passionate about leading people and building relationships while ensuring that the day-to-day operations run smoothly.
Responsible for a small team in a high paced, wholesale, and retail environment. Key focuses of the role would include, 1. Managing, coaching, and developing team members 2. Delegating duties and scheduling to ensure sound operations 3. implementing continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support several micro teams within the department including, parts sales, shipping and receiving and support functions
- Manage operations, including sales, customer relations, inventory management, safety, and facility maintenance
- Coach and develop team members and assign work activities, including assisting with recruiting, training, attendance management, scheduling, and performance management
- Monitor all orders incoming and outgoing to ensure customer satisfaction and inventory accuracy
- Promote and develop positive team environment
- Focus and achieve a high level of customer service at the location
- Develop and facilitate team training programs, coaching and employee development
- Lead improvement projects, and safety initiatives to continuously improve the department
- Collaborate with the Merchandising & Warehouse Manager to grow overall parts business and improve operational effectiveness
Requirements:
- Post-Secondary Education would be considered an asset
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience
- Experience managing people and prioritizing team responsibilities
- Proven track record of growth and Positive Team engagement
- Experience in a retail / customer service environment considered an asset
- Comfortable with technology and learning new applications
- Knowledge of purchasing, sales, and wholesale processes
