Description:

We are expanding our International Nurse Recruitment programme and are excited to be recruiting to new posts within the team:
Clinical & Pastoral Support (Band 6 Nursing Posts)
Project Support Officers (Band 4 Administrative posts)
The successful postholder will provide pastoral and practical support to international nurses ensuring they are welcomed to the Trust and can quickly settle into living and working in Greater Manchester. In collaboration with Nursing and Governance and the Learning and Development teams, facilitate the induction and onboarding of international nurses in the Trust.
As a holder of the Pastoral Care Quality Award, GMMH ensures IENs receive ongoing pastoral support, accommodation, introduction to local area, and additional elements on a case-by-case basis to support IENs and their families relocating to Manchester. You will need to be a highly motivated, skilled clinical practitioner, a professional role model and communicator, with evidence of an experience of supporting learners in the clinical setting.
At GMMH we have committed to recruiting over 100 Internationally Educated Nurses, and are working with key partners to deliver on this programme.
This is a new role, so there will be a requirement to set up systems. Processes and procedures or expand and formalise those already in place.
We welcome applications from those with experience of relocating the UK, and an understanding of the challenges this may bring.
Provide pastoral and professional support to international nurses and Trust staff whilst international nurses are on clinical placements
Any performance issues including attitude, approach, attendance, professional conduct, capability etc. are effectively managed in a timely fashion and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures
Provide quality supervision to international nurses
Ensure appropriate Trust staff are kept informed of any international nurses experiencing difficulties whilst on placement.
Cross-site support is provided for all international nurses.
Deliver and facilitate teaching sessions to meet the needs of each individual international nurse.
Support the Trust to deliver the International Nursing programme:
Support recruitment of international nurses via interviews and pre-joining webinars
Ensure learners learning needs are met by the clinical setting.
Ensure regular reviews of the training sessions
Communicate with Ward managers/Team Leaders to ascertain their views on the benefits of the training programmes
Gain feedback from international nurses who attend the training.
Share best practice relating to Quality Assurance and Interprofessional Learning across placement providers.
Contribute to trust reports to inform Learning and Development Agreement monitoring

Support the recruitment and selection process of international nurses, ensuring engagement in the process from leaders within the Trust Care Groups and services
Act as a liaison between the Trust and professional organizations responsible for recruiting international nurses, ensuring that data requirements are met adequately and promptly
Develop relationships with internationally recruited nurses before arrival in the country to understand and address any concerns professionally and within the settling in process
Work with services to enable international recruits to be supported and fully integrated into wards/Divisions
Liaise with managers, heads of departments and matrons about the progress of international staff and provide regular updates
Provide practical and pastoral support to internationally recruited nurse
Design, develop and support the delivery of an induction program for international nurse
Liaise with organizations selected by the Trust for supporting the OSCE preparation process, planning for candidates to attend OSCE preparation and return to the Trus
Liaise with OSCE providers, where necessary, to organize OSCE examinations/re-sits and support international nurses to obtain NMC Registration
Provide supervision and support in clinical areas as needed and to assist the international nurses in gaining their NMC registration
Where appropriate, provide feedback on an individual’s progress within their clinical area. Providing constructive feedback and participating in action planning for further progress
Ensure ESR forms are completed once NMC registration is obtained, to ensure international nurses are paid correctly
Support other nursing recruitment-related projects, programmes and activities where required.
