Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the clerical support staff to the Microbiology Laboratory at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospital NHS trust.
We are looking for two enthusiastic individuals to work in a fast paced office environment who can handle a variety of office duties to provide a high quality service to our patients and users.
You will be working alongside an experienced admin team where full training on our systems will be provided.
Once fully trained weekend and bank holiday participation will be required on a rota system.
If applying for this role on a secondment basis please gain approval from your current line manager before applying.
Main Duties Include
Data Inputting patient requests & information quickly & accurately
Receiving calls for the department on behalf of consultants and other laboratory staff, taking accurate telephone messages and results when given.
Ensure all electronic & paper records are correct and up to date including paper & electronic archive filing
Sending specimens to external reference laboratories including correct packaging, logging of details/results sent & received back.
Participates in weekend and bank holiday working on a rota system
Hours of work Mon – Fri 9am – 5.30pm (1hr lunch)
Weekends 1 a month when trained (rest days given during the week)
Bank Holidays on a rota system.
