POSITION SUMMARY

The Diagnostic Imaging department is currently seeking a Permanent Part-Time Patient Access Clerk II to join their team.
Effective Date: May 20th, 2024
The Patient Access Clerk is responsible to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging or designate for providing a variety of clerical duties to assist with the efficient and effective operation of D.I. department.

DEPARTMENT/UNIT/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Diagnostic Imaging Department (DI) offers a variety of services to inpatients and outpatients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Modalities offered include X-ray, CT, MRI, US, Mammography (including Ontario Breast Screening OBSP), Echocardiography and non-invasive IR procedures.
Orthopedic fracture clinics run multiple days per week, adding to the variety of patients seen. Patient complexity ranges based on individual patient needs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Knowledge of medical terminology - D.I. testing required
  • Keyboarding skills and minimum speed of 35 w.p.m. with high degree of accuracy - testing required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, a data base program and demonstrated experience in computer applications
  • Ability to deal effectively and co-operatively with all levels of staff, patients, physicians and the public
  • Demonstrated high level of communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated professional manner
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the job as per the current physical demands analysis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a hospital or medical office setting
  • Trained in EPIC preferred - training can be provided, but must pass required testing
  • PACS experience
  • Previous registration or booking experience
