POSITION DESCRIPTION
As a Patient Information Clerk, you will be the first point of contact when patients and families arrive to the department. You will facilitate the delivery of patient care by providing a high level of support and assistance to staff and patients/families. Supporting the operation of the department, you will provide clerical and administrative functions in a proactive and organized manner.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between patients/families and the Cardiac Critical Care Unit (CCCU) and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) staff
- Assist patient/families within your scope
- Maintain patient charts, as well as electronic and paper patient information
- Answer the phones
- Page providers and services within the hospital
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Register patients when bridge calls are initiated
