JOB OVERVIEW

The antenatal department is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the Patient Pathway Assistant role at St Helier Hospital. This is an opportunity to fully understand the maternity pathway from referral into the Trust through their journey.

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

The postholder will assist in providing the highest quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support to medical and nursing staff and continuous improvement.
Based in a speciality clinical team, the post holder will support all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients’ care pathway, tracking and supporting them throughout their journey.
The postholder will provide a patient-focused service that supports clinical staff in the provision of efficient integrated pathways that enable the best use of resources and ensure that patients are fit, willing and able to be treated and that they are treated in the right place, by the right person, at the right time.
To answer telephones by departmental standards, ensure that all telephones are responded to and that all inquiries are dealt with efficiently and courteously, record any messages clearly and accurately, and deliver them promptly.
The post holder will ensure high levels of patient care by assisting the Patient Pathway Coordinators and being an accessible, customer-focused and knowledgeable point of contact.
