Patient Safety Manager

To support the Patient Safety Lead in the provision of an efficient, effective, professional and co- ordinated quality risk and incident management within the Care Groups and trust wide, which is capable of meeting statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements. The post holder will be the primary link between a division and the Patient Safety Team; however, will be expected to support the Patient Safety Lead to ensure there is equitable support and distribution of workload across the team. To deputise for the Patient Safety Lead in their absence and therefore provide direct support to divisional managers, operational staff and other colleagues within divisions and the Trust. The post holder will work as part of the Patient Safety Team for the Trust and contribute to the implementation and management of the Trusts Risk Management Strategy.
The post holder will provide expert risk management and patient safety advice and support to healthcare professionals and managers throughout the Trust and work closely with the Patient Safety colleagues to ensure compliance with safety, quality risk and effectiveness standards. The post holder will continue to maintain the communication and liaison with management within the services as required for their role. The post holder will continue to attend divisional meetings and have input into divisional projects as required for their substantive post, delegating as appropriate
