Overview:
Kimley-Horn, one of Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For,” is looking for a Payroll Accountant to join the corporate team in our Raleigh, NC headquarters. The candidate will be involved in a variety of Payroll functions and will work with employees at all levels across the firm.
This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities:

The candidate will be involved in a variety of Payroll functions and will work with employees at all levels across the firm.

  • Process semi-monthly multi-state payroll – from start to finish
  • Responsible for creating and updating payroll reports in Business Intelligence; Data auditing
  • Assist in processing semi-monthly timesheets and timesheet compliance
  • Worker’s Compensation Audit – assist in preparing audit workpaper
  • Verifications of Employment
  • Back up to other payroll accountants
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Experience with the following is preferred: databases and reporting; payroll software; and multi-state tax (UKG Pro and Business Intelligence reporting preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including intermediate skills with Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills and client service mentality
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
  • High degree of professionalism with demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Excellent organization, detail-orientation, and follow-through skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with limited daily supervision
  • Ability and willingness to learn new software applications
