Description:

We are offering a unique opportunity for a Payroll Accountant in the manufacturing sector. This role is based in Washington, United States and provides a short-term contract employment opportunity. The Payroll Accountant will play an integral role in our team, handling tasks such as payroll deductions, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle payroll deductions accurately and in a timely manner
  • Conduct general ledger accounting tasks as per the company guidelines
  • Prepare and submit journal entries, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Perform reconciliations of accounts to ensure their accuracy
  • Utilize ADP for payroll processing and maintain up-to-date payroll tax records
  • Work with the Workday Payroll system to streamline payroll processes
  • Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently
  • Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments
  • Leverage your skills in General Ledger and Journal Entries to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Proficiency in ADP - Payroll software is required
  • Knowledge of Payroll Taxes is essential
  • Experience with Workday Payroll software is necessary
  • Familiarity with General Ledger accounting practices
  • Ability to prepare and process Journal Entries accurately
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is desirable
  • Relevant certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) would be a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel is required
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines is necessary
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations regarding payroll is essential.
