Description:

Robert Half Finance & Accounting is partnering with a well established New Orleans construction company in search of an Accounting & Payroll Coordinator. The Accounting & Payroll Coordinator will be an integral part of our finance department, responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and providing essential support in accounting functions. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic construction environment.
Responsibilities:Payroll Processing:
Process weekly payroll accurately and efficiently using payroll software.
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations in all payroll activities.
Address employee inquiries and resolve payroll-related issues promptly.
Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as required by project contracts.
Maintain accurate records of payroll adjustments and special payments.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in the construction industry.
Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and accounting principles.
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees and external stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
CPP or FPC certification is a plus.
