The Payroll Administrator provides a short-term contract / temporary role from its Port Coquitlam, British Columbia location.
What you get to do every day
- Help payroll manage all internal and external audits
- Maintain all updates of payroll records by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
- Handle all payroll information questions and requests
- Put together summaries of employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to calculate all payroll liabilities
- Review source documents with necessary verification
- Guarantee company compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
- Managing payroll information by keeping proper records for collecting, calculating, and entering data
- Follow established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report changes as necessary
- Promote employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and keeping information confidential
- Reconcile employee deductions and other liabilities as needed
- Perform any other duties that arise in the course of normal business operations
- Prepare for department heads relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports
- Retrieve and assess information in order to resolve payroll discrepancies
- Draft reports by organizing all summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
- Experienced in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Prior experience working with accounting software
- Expertise in federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
- Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
- Mastery of internal controls
- 2+ years of strong payroll experience
- Outstanding data entry skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of ADP - Payroll
- Capable of managing high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
- Certified Payroll Professional will be given preference
