Robert Half is looking for Payroll Administrator candidates with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who know how to effectively problem solve and possess a solid knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Your responsibilities

  • Handle reconciliation of employee deductions and other relevant liabilities
  • Continue employee confidence in payroll operations by keeping sensitive information confidential
  • Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data
  • Organize and compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages in order to draft relevant reports
  • Understand and report necessary changes to payroll operations by maintaining established policies and procedures
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies via information collection and analysis
  • Guarantee company compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
  • Manage other tasks as assigned
  • Perform review and verification of source documents
  • Draft relevant year-end reports, as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly ones, for department heads
  • Offer assistance with internal and external audits related to payroll
  • Establish payroll liabilities after calculating all employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments
  • Answer questions and requests related to payroll information
  • Enter changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers as part of managing payroll records
  • Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
  • General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred
  • Foundational knowledge in manual payroll
  • Proficiency in ADP - Payroll
  • Practical knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
  • General familiarity with Payroll Functions
  • Adeptness in ADP Reportsmith
  • Practical knowledge of Payroll Law
  • Foundational knowledge in ADP Enterprise
  • Deep understanding of in-house payroll
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ADP Smartview
  • Multi-state payroll experience preferred
  • Union payroll experience highly preferred
  • ADP Online experience highly desired
  • Garnishments payroll experience required
  • Payroll experience desired
  • Earlier work involving benefits payroll
  • Full Cycle Payroll experience highly valued
  • Adeptness in payroll for over 500 employees
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Payroll Compliance Professional
  • Background working with Automated Payroll
  • Good understanding of bi-Monthly Payroll
  • General familiarity with ADP Windows
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS Payroll System
  • Command of ADP Financial Services
  • Prior experience with Local Payroll Tax
  • Comprehension of HR Payroll System
  • Experience with independent systems (Payroll)
  • Solid understanding of Multistate Payroll
  • Multi-state payroll experience highly desired
  • Previous experience working with Certified Payroll
  • Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
  • Experienced in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
  • Relevant experience should include 2+ years in payroll
  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
  • Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
  • Certified Payroll Professional will be given preference
  • Previous experience using accounting software
  • Expertise with internal controls
