Your responsibilities in this role

  • Collect and analyze information including resolving payroll discrepancies
  • Continue employee confidence in payroll operations by keeping sensitive information confidential
  • Compile all information in reference to summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages for reports
  • Put together for department heads the circulation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports
  • Perform other tasks as necessary
  • Exercise review and verification of source documents
  • Manage payroll information requests and questions
  • Continue implementation of established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations, reporting changes where necessary
  • Manage employee deductions and other liabilities
  • Handle payroll record updates by keeping changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
  • Help payroll manage all internal and external audits
  • Using federal and state regulations and guidelines, certify company compliance
  • Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data
  • Establish payroll liabilities after calculating all employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of About Time
  • ADP Financial Services experience desired
  • Check processing experience highly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • General familiarity with Accounting Functions
  • Deep understanding of Ceridian
  • Adeptness in 401k - RRSP Administration
  • ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
  • Practical knowledge of Benefit Functions
  • Kronos Timekeeping System experience
  • Proficient with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in payroll
  • Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
  • Accurate, swift, data entry abilities
  • Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
  • Preference will be given to Certified Payroll Professional
  • Prior experience working with collections/accounting software
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
  • Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills
  • Understanding of internal controls
