    We are currently seeking a Payroll and Human Resources Officer to join our team based in Macquarie Park. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, the Payroll and HR Officer is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of payroll operations for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) including processing monthly payroll, maintaining accurate payroll records and answering employee payroll queries. Additionally, the role will be responsible for Human Resources duties including talent attraction, compensation and benefits.

Key responsibilities for this position includes (but are not limited to):

  • Process of end-to-end monthly payroll cycles for approximately 290 employees across two Australian entities and one New Zealand entity.
  • Update and maintain employee records including salaries, superannuation, taxation and other employee benefits.
  • First point of contact for all employee payroll queries.
  • Keep up to date with industry changes including superannuation, Awards and taxation legislation.
  • Lead the recruitment process including advertising, screening candidates, supporting hiring managers in interviews, conducting reference checks and facilitating additional assessments as needed.
  • Support the HR Business Partner to coordinate company sponsored immigration visas; process the annual Variable Compensation Scheme; review and benchmark compensation packages; and track WHS incidents and lodge claims with the relevant insurer.
  • Support the development and implementation of employee benefits and employer branding activities.
  • Provide advice and assistance to employees on HR policies, projects and procedures as required.

The key skills required for this role include:

  • Previous experience processing stand-alone end to end payroll for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Previous experience using payroll and HRIS software (Chris21 experience is highly desirable).
  • Previous experience working in HR and / or Recruitment is highly desirable
  • An understanding of and ability to interpret Modern Awards.
  • Current thorough knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation.
  • Working knowledge of MS office and intermediate experience using Microsoft Excel.
  • Motivation for continuous improvement and drive to stay up to date on payroll and HR changes and trends, demonstrating agility and resourcefulness.
  • High attention to detail and a solutions focused approach.
  • Ability to be a team player while maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive matter.
  • Availability for occasional evening meetings to connect with global colleagues.
