Description:
Robert Half is looking for candidates who want to join a dynamic, fast-growing team as a Payroll Clerk. This job will include supporting the Payroll department in a variety of functions, including data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. You should have the ability to communicate effectively with both the internal team and outside customers. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is based in the New Hamburg, Ontario area and is a long-term contract / temporary employment role.
Major responsibilities
- Build a system of administering and distributing reports
- Manage communications with employees on timesheet approvals
- File, scan, fax, and perform other clerical duties as required
- Be the main point of instruction/training contact to employees regarding payroll-related best practices
- Configure custom reports
- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Organize data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Experience with high volume data entry
- Payroll software experience preferred
- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
- Skillful in learning new processes and systems
- Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
- Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
- Command of Microsoft Excel
- Deep understanding of Canadian Payroll
- Data entry experience desired
- 1+ years of previous payroll experience
