SUMMARY

The Payroll & Benefits Specialist role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, as well as efficient administration of employee benefits programs. Responsibilities include overseeing payroll cycles, administering benefits programs, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of proven experience as a Payroll/Benefits Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of payroll and benefits regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in payroll and HRIS software (UKG Ready).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Administer and process bi-weekly payroll cycles accurately and on time.
  • Verify and reconcile time and attendance data.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to payroll.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
  • Facilitate open enrollment processes and educate employees on available benefits.
  • Coordinate with benefits providers and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the payroll and benefits systems.
  • Generate reports for management and regulatory purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality regulations.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to employees on benefit plan options.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to resolve payroll and benefits-related issues.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll and benefits regulations.
  • Ensure company compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
