Job Description

Responsibilities:

HOW TO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE

  • You must hold a degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Have a solid knowledge of payroll employment standards in Quebec
  • Holding a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation would be a strong asset
  • Have a minimum of 2-3 years experience with the full payroll cycle, specifically QC-payroll processing experience
  • Have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Google Sheet
  • Posses experience working with ADP Workforce Now and Workday HRIS would be an asset
  • Knowledge of French (written and spoken) is mandatory as this role is based out of Quebec and French is the primary work language.

Here is a high level overview of your role and responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all payroll entries including new hires, payroll data changes, terminations, records of employment, etc. and develop and maintain payroll-related documentation, processes and guidelines
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the personnel database in the payroll system (ADP) and ensure compliance with payroll related policies and processes in order to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Ensure the proper processing of group benefits, leaves of absence, vacation and any other related HR program in accordance with applicable plans and internal processes.
  • Act as the main point of contact for payroll and benefit inquiries. Respond to employee payroll inquiries within SLAs through the internal HR ticketing system.
  • Maintain accurate employee benefits and savings plan information with external service providers.
  • Create and run custom audit reports to verify payroll data such as overtime hours, accrued vacation, commissions, etc
