Description:
A well-known company is currently looking for a Payroll Clerk who is excited about filling a challenging position. Join a team at and advance your career as a Payroll Clerk through an opportunity offered by Robert Half. This position will require a variety of duties such as data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. In order to succeed in this position the candidate will need to communicate effectively with both internal team members and outside customers. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is based in the Sykesville, Maryland area and is a long-term contract / temporary to hire employment role.
Your responsibilities in this role
- Craft and deliver training to employees on the use of proper payroll practices, including timesheet entry and online methods of accessing pay statements
- Comprise data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Communicate with organization employees via a variety of channels to obtain approvals of timesheets
- Build and run custom reports
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc
- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Administer and distribute reports as instructed
- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
- Ability to easily learn new systems
- Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
- Proficient in Payroll software
- 1+ years of previous payroll experience
- Outstanding data entry skills
- ADP - Payroll experience preferred
- Proficiency in multi-state payroll
- Solid understanding of Full Cycle Payroll
- Expertise in payroll for over 500 employees
- Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
