The company is one of Australia’s leading retail pharmacy group. This role requires 30 working hours a week (0.8 basis) but the company may be flexible to offer full time work should the candidate prefer.
about the job
In this role you will run payroll for approximately 900-950 employees. Half the employees payroll gets processed one week and the other half the next week. Currently payroll is processed via an outsourced model with the Payroll Specialist ensuring all data provided to the third party is correct and submitted within specified timelines. You will ensure superior internal customer service by responding to payroll related queries and effectively process corrections. You will ensure that quarterly incentive payments, annual wage increases, reclassifications, promotions etc are processed correctly. In addition, you may assist with setting up new and maintaining existing employee records. You will also be responsible for system management and maintenance, monitoring and recording Paid Parental Leave (PPL) payments and arranging fortnightly payments, submitting work cover reimbursement forms and monitoring accurate payments to the staff, interpreting awards and agreements to facilitate accurate payroll delivery.

The ideal incumbent must come with minimum 3 years’ payroll experience with payroll skills and knowledge covering;

  • Payroll Configuration

You should also possess demonstrated knowledge of how payroll software works and how it can be improved, plus the ability to understand and work with numbers using advanced Excel abilities.
