Purpose
As our Payroll Officer, you will flourish in a supportive environment, working seamlessly alongside a cohesive team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service. Collaborating closely with our Payroll Leadership Team, you will be at the forefront of managing end-to-end payroll for over 5500 team members across our esteemed hotels and Qantas lounges in Australia, New Zealand, and Hawaii
The Role
We are in search of a payroll professional, preferably with Micropay Experience who can hit the ground running for an immediate start, assuming this position on a Part-Time (min 30 hours per week), Fixed-Term basis for the duration of 12 months.
Once full training has been completed, there is opportunity for hybrid work arrangements allowing for a mix of office and home-based work to accommodate both organisational and individual requirements

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process new starters, maintain employee records, and handle payroll queries with finesse
  • Take charge of preparing and processing termination payments to ensure a seamless experience for our team members
  • Roll up your sleeves and dive into the fortnightly payroll process, showcasing your meticulous attention to detail
  • Lead the charge in month-end reconciliation and reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency every step of the way
  • Gain valuable exposure to employment legislation and Awards, expanding your knowledge and skills
  • Provide expert advice on employment, taxation, and superannuation legislation, making a real impact on our team
  • Deliver top-notch customer service by responding to all enquiries in a timely, professional, and friendly manner, ensuring our team members feel supported and valued

Skills and Experience

  • Junior Payroll Officers and Payroll administrators are encouraged to apply as full training and support is on offer
  • Customer service focus, with a genuine desire to support our hotels and Qantas Lounges
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team or service delivery environment
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented role, particularly in high-volume payroll
  • Familiarity with integrated payroll systems like MicrOpay or Preceda is highly desirable, though not essential
  • Working knowledge of Excel is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
