Hays is currently recruiting for a Local Government department in North Brisbane. This organisation is dedicated to providing valued services to the community. The team are looking for two Payroll Officers to join the well-established team immediately on a temporary contract. This is a temporary opportunity with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:

YOUR NEW ROLE

  • As part of the Payroll Team, you will ensure operational compliance within policies and procedures. Acting as point of contact for payroll matters, developing and maintaining relationships with colleagues.
  • Act as first point of contact for payroll queries
  • Prepare and input payroll and human resource information including the accurate processing of timesheets, leave applications and higher duties
  • Processing of weekly pay cycles
  • Providing payroll information to the Local Government Superannuation Board
  • Prepare forms and conduct reporting in relation to payroll deductions

You’ll have previous experience working within a team environment and have been responsible for managing a full function payroll where there is a variety of pay options including casual, over time and permanent hours. You’ll also be experienced with:

  • Excellent communication skills in order to liaise with both internal staff and external agencies
  • Problem-solving
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to cope with stressful and challenging conditions whilst maintaining professional and ethical standards in the workplace
  • Understanding of EBA’s and award
  • Previous knowledge of Payroll and Kronos systems and interfaces
  • Immediately available to star
