Description:

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our HUB24 Payroll Function within a Fixed Term Contract until 30th September 2025.
You’ll work in a collaborative team and autonomously contribute to a broad range of tasks. With a strong focus on analysing extensive datasets and navigating complex modern awards to bridge the gap between payroll functions and regulatory requirements. You’ll meticulously process payroll data for accuracy and compliance, manage tax obligations, assist with reporting and reconciliation, address inquiries and resolve issues, and maintain employee records.
With a keen eye for detail and deep knowledge of payroll regulation, you’ll streamline processes, identify efficiencies, and offer valuable insights to optimise payroll operations, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll across the HUB24 Group.
The role is located in Sydney.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 10 years Payroll experience including time spent in the Financial Services industry
  • Comprehensive understanding of Modern Awards especially in financial services
  • Experienced in analysing large datasets and adept at navigating complexity
  • Knowledge of general payroll practices, procedures, operations and legislation
  • Deadline focused and an ability to prioritise tasks
  • Ability to investigate issues and find solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of working autonomously within a team environment
  • Advanced computer skills including, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite can be advantageous but not essential

Responsibilities:

  • Complying with relevant awards and legislation. This includes Modern Award Compliance reconciliations
  • Assisting with the preparation and payment of all State and Federal tax obligations including PAYG tax, Payroll tax, Superannuation Guarantee contributions
  • Processing new employee’s onboarding and terminations (from a payroll perspective)
  • Ensuring accurate payroll transactions and payments
  • Preparation and timely delivery of payslips and STP Requirements
  • Managing Superannuation Choice funds for employees
  • Managing leave entitlements and payments
  • Liaise with ATO on any issues
  • Assisting with month-end reporting, reconciliation to system and Payroll Tax Lodgement
  • Answering general payroll enquiries, including advice on awards, policies etc.
  • Resolving payroll issues
  • Employee record maintenance
  • Working closely with HR and Finance departments
  • Regular filing and archiving of payroll information
