We are seeking a Payroll Officer who will be responsible for end-to-end payroll management, processing, end of month, and end of financial year reporting.
Your new role will assist with the following duties
- Maintain the payroll system including updating and maintaining records, handling employee data including adjustments, change of employee conditions, new starter set up, terminations etc.
- Calculating and processing statutory compliance including payroll tax, workers compensation, PAYG, superannuation etc.
- Maintaining and overseeing leave records and payments
- End of month and end of year payroll reconciliations
- Keep up to date with legislative changes to ensure the business complies with all relevant requirements
- Act as main contact for all payroll queries nationally.
- Ongoing review of procedures to develop and improve payroll processes
- Processing of timesheets for fortnightly payroll.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Minimum 12 months payroll experience using any modern payroll software - experience with UKG (Kronos) or JDE (Oracle) will be beneficial
- Exceptional attention to detail whilst working in a high-volume role
- Advanced skill level using Microsoft Office packages, specifically Word and Excel
- Experience in interpreting awards and statutory legislation is an advantage
- The ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Previous experience managing payroll within the Black Coal industry and Black Coal LSL will be highly regarded
- Previous experience with high volume (500+ staff) payroll is an advantage
