The Team
The Client Payroll Operations (CPO) Team is a dynamic, high-energy team which provides top-tier contingent workforce payroll processing and support to Magnit field services teams domestically. The CPO team works cross-functionally with internal partners including Invoicing, Finance, Human Resources, Training, and Client Services (CS) to ensure payroll related transactions are processed accurately, timely, and compliantly for the diverse workforce that Magnit supports.
Day in the Life
Magnit is looking for a Payroll Operations Consultant to help support our Client Payroll teams work more effectively by utilizing key data elements. The Payroll Operations Consultant is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to clients and key internal stakeholders on the execution of Magnit’s proprietary solutions, including process design, system configuration, and on-going payroll process execution/support. The Payroll Operations Consultant manages several client payroll processes including analyzing payroll operations processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing solutions to enhance performance.
This role must work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to deliver world class service to our customers, their workforce, and colleagues to identify risk, consult and advise on best practices, and ensure internal and legal compliance. This critical role is looked upon to develop and meet defined key performance initiatives (KPI’s), implement process efficiencies, and foster a productive team environment. This role must also provide oversight, validation, and reconciliation of payroll processes and data management to ensure accuracy to support an outstanding service experience for our customers and their contingent workforces. The attention to detail required and continuous workflow makes this a great position for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, analytical role.

What You Will Do

  • Act as a consultant to internal and external stakeholders to determine business requirements and needs of customized payroll processes to identify and/or mitigate payroll risk. Consult, recommend, and partner with key stakeholders to carry out best-in-class solutions as appropriate in areas such as payroll, benefits, time, and human resources policy and procedures.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and develop solutions for Magnit/client application issues in the areas of payroll system setup, payroll functionality, and general payroll client inquiries.
  • Work with and mentor Client Payroll Operations Analysts to optimize daily payroll processing and to ensure every client interaction is a best-in-class experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders in identifying, escalating, developing short and long-term solutions and mitigating critical issues in a timely manner to ensure optimal system utilization and regulatory compliance at an enterprise-level.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders and teams to identify key payroll processes and requirements, areas for improvement in department-wide processes and strategy, and delivery of such continuous advancements.
  • Independently develop and deliver client process documentation, governance, and execution on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

What You Will Need

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required or 5+ years of payroll related work experience.
  • PayrollOrg Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designations preferred.
  • Experience and ability to navigate multiple company systems in execution of the successful payroll process.
  • Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in HR Administration/HRMS, Payroll, and VMS software/environments. Experience with Employer of Record (EOR) payroll environments preferred.
  • Positive outlook and attitude with solid technical and problem-solving skills. You will take the initiative to seek answers, solutions, and positive outcomes in a timely manner for both the client and Magnit.
  • Possess the HR, payroll knowledge, and the necessary competencies to deliver value to Magnit’s clients.
  • The ability to research complex payroll process issues and develop remediation plans to mitigate any risk to the client and Magnit. This includes the ability to perform basic and complex research and communicating results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will set priorities, organize your day, multi-task, change direction, and provide prompt follow-up. You will strive to exceed client expectations in every interaction.
  • Anticipate and meet future client needs through effective planning that aligns with our vision, goals, and strategic initiatives.
  • Possess intermediate or greater MS excel spreadsheet skills with a concentration on reference, lookup, and logical functions.
  • The ability to measure, monitor, and control quality outcomes with strong process management skill working towards defined key performance metrics.
  • Recognizing and resolving complex issues within appropriate timelines and with a sense of urgency.
  • Partner with management in process change management and be adaptable to a flexible work environment while keeping focus on meeting defined goals and deliverables.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SAS etc.) is a plus. Adept at queries and report writing is considered a plus

Compensation: The salary for the role ranges from $75,000-$85,000 USD annually.
