Responsibilities:

THE ROLE / THE TEAM:

Slalom’s fast-paced, highly collaborative Global People Team (GPT) is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to complete daily, weekly, and ongoing payroll-related activities for Australia and New Zealand. Working closely with the APAC Payroll Manager and payroll vendors, the Senior Payroll Specialist will support the payroll processes, including auditing and ensuring compliance with internal policies, practices and regional laws. This individual will be hands-on, flexible, dependable and 100% committed to accuracy. They will have the ability to work in a strong team-oriented environment and provide support as needed.
This role can be based in either Sydney or Melbourne.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Process monthly and off-cycle payrolls for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Reconcile payroll vendor gross-to-net payroll calculations.
  • Validate payroll data flows accurately from HR system to payroll vendor system.
  • Manage monthly annual leave balances and reconciliation.
  • Reconcile and file monthly tax liability with tax agencies.
  • Work closely with partners in HR Operations, Compensation, and Benefits Teams
  • Complete year-end related tasks.
  • Liaise with external payroll providers.
  • Respond to employee inquiries via a ticketing system.
  • Delivers high-quality written and verbal communications within own team and cross-functionally.
  • Provides insight to improve or update established processes or policies.
  • Special projects as assigned.
