ABOUT THE JOB
Working with a team of dynamic people, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for accurately processing financial transactions, reporting and reconciling. This position will engage in cross-functional support with other administrative members in order to provide accurate information for both internal and external reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be comfortable working out of our head-office, based in Town of Mount Royal, 5 days a week.
- Perfectly bilingual, verbal and written communication in French and English.
- Solid knowledge of Canadian payroll laws, regulations, and practices.
- Proficiency in payroll software and human resources information systems
- 2+ years of payroll experience, ideally in a staffing environment.
- Knowledge of U.S. tax laws is an asset, but not required.
- Ability to analyze data and detect errors or inconsistencies.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Attention to detail and results-oriented.
Salary Range: $60k-$70k annually, based on experience.

Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll for all hourly employees (1000+ processing weekly)
- Review payroll calculated for accuracy, making any corrections necessary
- Maintain payroll master files and provide payroll information where needed
- Prepare month-end payroll journal entries
- Prepare monthly statutory filings
- Prepare year-end statutory reconciliations
- Maintain knowledge of current payroll related legislation to ensure Fuze HR is in compliance
- Provide details and supporting documents and reconciliations for all payroll related audits
- Ensure all internal controls around payroll processes are maintained and updated as required
- Assist on special projects as they relate to the payroll function
