Description:

Robert Half is working with a real estate company based in West Los Angeles, specializing in residential and commercial properties. We are seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team on a temporary-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have experience with Paychex and a strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance standards.
Job Description: As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our employees. You will collaborate closely with the HR department and other relevant stakeholders to guarantee smooth payroll operations. This position requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role, preferably in the real estate industry.
Proficiency in Paychex payroll software is required.
Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field is preferred.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting purposes

Responsibilities:

Process bi-weekly payroll using Paychex software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Maintain employee records, including but not limited to wages, deductions, time off, and tax withholding information.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and finance teams for review and analysis.
Address employee inquiries regarding payroll-related matters in a timely and professional manner.
Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws.
Assist in the implementation of payroll process improvements and system enhancements to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues that may arise.
Generate and distribute year-end tax forms, such as W-2s and 1099s, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Provide support during payroll audits and respond to auditor inquiries as needed.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of payroll data and sensitive employee information at all times.
