We are seeking a full-time Payroll Specialist to join our Finance Team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll
  • Process approved payroll adjustments and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Calculate and process all wage garnishments.
  • Manages regular preparation of relevant reports, including weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports. Manages preparation of ad-hoc reports as requested timely and in format requested.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax laws.
  • Investigate, validate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data, benefit and payroll information
  • Monitor the payroll email inbox daily to provide timely and accurate responses to employee and customers inquires.
  • Develop and maintains a relationship with the payroll service provider to resolve issues and create system enhancement to produce accurate payrolls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) desired

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • 5+ years progressive payroll experience within a corporate payroll department: healthcare setting is a plus
  • Previous experience with Ceridian/Dayforce preferred
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws and compliance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
