We are seeking a full-time Payroll Specialist to join our Finance Team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll
- Process approved payroll adjustments and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Calculate and process all wage garnishments.
- Manages regular preparation of relevant reports, including weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports. Manages preparation of ad-hoc reports as requested timely and in format requested.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax laws.
- Investigate, validate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data, benefit and payroll information
- Monitor the payroll email inbox daily to provide timely and accurate responses to employee and customers inquires.
- Develop and maintains a relationship with the payroll service provider to resolve issues and create system enhancement to produce accurate payrolls.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) desired
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- 5+ years progressive payroll experience within a corporate payroll department: healthcare setting is a plus
- Previous experience with Ceridian/Dayforce preferred
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws and compliance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of payroll best practices
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
