Description:

THE POSITION

Payroll Responsibilities- Processes payroll and related benefit deposits and reports, deposits funds and submits reports for employee benefits, and maintains employee records and other payroll-related data. Verifies and maintains paid time off, overtime, travel pay, per diem, pay increases, deductions, travel days, and project numbers. Ties out benefit deductions to vendor invoices. Develops and implements procedures and policies for all administrative activities. Typically manages recordkeeping, document preparation, mail distribution, reception, equipment maintenance services and technical support, project coordination/scheduling, and other related internal operations. Thorough knowledge of functional areas and department processes. Assist with general administrative functions and activities of the office.
Staff Accountant – The Staff Accountant assists the finance department and accounting team in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and human resources functions. Duties may include entry of receipts, invoices, deposits, purchase orders, vehicle records, tying out project data, benefit deductions to invoices, etc.
Position is full-time with the potential to be part-time if desired.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred; High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Three to five years of related experience required
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to interact with customers and vendors effectively
  • Builds relationships with colleagues, manages conflict, and fosters a positive office environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Efficiently manages time and deadlines to ensure smooth office operations
  • Proficient with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain an organized office environment
  • Able to identify and resolve issues related to office operations and facilities
  • Compliance and accuracy in documentation, financial transactions, and other administrative tasks
  • Ability to plan and coordinate office projects, such as office moves, events, or functions
  • Comfortable with changing priorities and a dynamic work environment
