ATCO Australia is looking for a Payroll Supervisor to join the HR Services team and lead payroll operations for ATCO Australia. As Payroll Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in providing an efficient, effective, and high-quality payroll service to our employees. Leveraging a passion for continuous improvement, you will also play a key role in landmark payroll projects that shape the future.
Reporting to the HR Services Manager, and working alongside a wider HR team, your attention to detail, customer-centric attitude, and expert knowledge of payroll legislation, processes and procedures will contribute to a seamless payroll operation. As a subject matter expert, you will guide and build the capability of the wider HR team, business leaders and you will support the HR Services Manager where required.

What Does Success Look Like

  • Maintaining and managing employee payroll data within the payroll system, ensuring accuracy in compensation, leave accruals, benefits, tax withholding, superannuation, month-end and year-end processes.
  • Preparation and processing Payroll and Shadow Payroll (inbound assignees), including calculating payments, implementing payments accurately, and processing journal entries in a timely manner.
  • Staying updated on and lead compliance with all payroll-related legislation, including STP reporting, PAYG, Payroll Tax, Superannuation laws, and Workers’ compensation requirements.
  • Leading the operations of Payroll, providing support, mentorship and capability building to team members.
