The Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for the payroll tax processing for multiple US Oncology Network legal entities. This position requires very strong analytical skills, experience working with large ERP software, and the ability to work with multiple levels of management on occasion. This position requires working with moderate guidance demonstrating competence and application of standard payroll tax principles, theories concepts and techniques. Provides resolutions to an assortment of problems of moderately complex scope.

  • Back up for all incoming and outgoing mail, including but not limited to logging, researching, uploading and following up on agency notices, W-2C’s and related correspondence and notifications to and from government agencies. Completes Power of Attorney forms, updating contact and mailing information with agencies, ADP, Equifax, internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for the Tax Mailbox by providing resolutions to an assortment of problems of moderately complex scope, using judgement within defined practices and procedures. Entering W-4 entries and tax allocations according to incoming email notifications, job changes, transfers and business processes.
  • Contributes to Mergers & Acquisitions projects through new account set ups with the agency, ADP and Workday, tracking federal, state and local tax election entry, closure of inactive accounts in response to reorganizations and divestitures.
  • Ensure compliance with all payroll tax related governmental, regulatory and legislative requirements through notifications and research through maintaining federal, state and local tables in Workday and ADP. Provides assistance with testing for Workday and ADP legislative tax updates.
  • Responsible for filing Multiple Worksite Reporting and the regular maintenance of weekly, monthly and quarterly audit reports. Along with the maintenance of policies and standard operating procedures related to the areas of responsibility.
  • Work alongside the Senior Tax Analyst to reconcile daily and quarterly tax deposits, balancing employee wage and tax statements (W2’s), and assisting with quarterly balancing of payroll tax filings and generating year-end corrected tax statements (W2C’s). Processes wage and tax adjustments to state income tax withholding, state unemployment, federal, FICA, locals, etc.
  • Processes, balances and validates daily/monthly/quarterly tax file integrations and wire process. Responsible for the set up and maintenance associated with state reciprocal agreements through regular audits validating home and work location tax set up, researching and providing tax election changes to Tax Coordinator for entry through regularly scheduled audits.
  • Provides accurate and timely resolution for moderately complex payroll tax related discrepancies regarding paycheck earnings and deduction taxation, W2 explanations, payroll tax related escalations, military/visa exemptions, etc.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four year degree in finance, accounting or business or 2+ years of payroll tax experience (focused in the USA)

CRITICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to manage and prioritize various responsibilities with competing, short deadlines
  • Very strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Customer-orientated with strong ability for troubleshooting and issue resolution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Outlook and Word

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Workday and ADP SmartCompliance preferred
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
