Description:
The Caboolture Veterans’ and Families’ Hub is our brand-new site dedicated to welcoming Australian Defence Force Veterans and their families. The Hub provides integrated support to current and ex-service personnel and families.
This is achieved by offering a multiservice suite for Veterans, which may include health and mental health services, well-being support, RSL-based advocacy, employment and housing advice, social connection, and access to counselling and support.
The hub is operated by Lives Lived Well, a not-for-profit organisation providing support for people in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia with concerns related to alcohol and other drugs, mental health, transitioning from corrective services, veterans’ wellbeing, and gambling.
Responsibilities:
- Initiate and participate in supportive conversations that help veterans and families feel listened to, supported and less alone in their experience while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Appropriately, and purposefully share parts of your own lived experience in relation to the challenges associated with the veteran journey.
- Provide emotional and social support to the veterans and families, and work with them in building their capacity to be part of their community.
- Supporting veterans and families to feel safe and to have their needs and preferences heard.Represent veterans and families and the Peer Support Program in wider consultations, committees, and meetings.
This is a permanent part time opportunity, working 15 hours per week. Ideally, you will be available to work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week as our activities calendar is managed around this schedule.
The gross hourly pay rate will range between $37.35 and $40.05 per hour (pay rates effective from first full pay period in July) plus super, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.
