Peer Worker - Short Stay Pathway

Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be a person with lived experience of mental ill-health, service use and recovery (identifies as a mental health consumer)
About the role
Permanent part time opportunity to assist people who are experiencing mental health distress, develop a better understanding of recovery whilst utilising their lived experience to support the person to work towards achieving the best outcomes, as well as offering options for community connection when discharged.
About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health’s values:

• Ensure consumers, carers, families and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic, gender identity and linguistic backgrounds.
• Commit to patient safety and quality in delivery of health care by maintaining and evaluating safety and quality practices and
• Knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of relevant applications, including Consumer Integrated Mental Health Application (CIMHA), RiskMan, Learning Management System (LMS), Hospital Base Client Information System (HBCIS), and Emergency Department Information System (EDIS).
