POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have:
- 2 to 7 years of pension law experience or a strong transactional background with a keen interest in pensions and benefits;
- Experience advising plan administrators, plan sponsors, trustees, and major institutional pension funds on a wide range of matters including pension plan design, administration, governance, legislative compliance, fiduciary responsibilities, plan wind-ups, pension fund investment, surplus strategies, and pension and benefit issues arising from corporate transactions;
- Experience advising clients on employee and executive compensation programs including supplemental retirement arrangements and deferred profit sharing plans;
- Superior communication and drafting skills;
- Excellent academic credentials; and
- Be called to the bar in Ontario, Alberta, or British Columbia.
