    As the People and Operational Safety Advisor (NZ & Pacific Islands), you will be work in an advisory capacity to manage the development, implementation, and oversight of the safety strategy for airport ground operations across the NZ and Pacific Island network. The focus being to minimise or eliminate, where practicable, injuries to persons, damage to equipment, infrastructure or the environment. This is to be achieved by working with the Ground Service Providers to ensure regulatory compliance and delivery of a proactive safety culture. This role is integral to improving the identification of, mitigation against, and resolution of relevant hazards.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • A tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline
  • Ability to work comfortably with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Experience in an HSE position preferably within aviation or an operational industry
  • Demonstrated the ability to develop and implement safety strategies within a large operational business
  • Sound understanding of WHS legislation and Human Factors principles
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively liaise with both staff, management and regulators at all levels
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to show initiative and flexibility
  • A positive, results focused disposition and do not shy away from challenges being thrown your way
