About you
To be considered for this role you’ll need to be an experienced HR Advisor that has a fair understanding of the employment law, payroll, ER processes, change management and strong relationship building skills. You will be passionate about people, have a can-do attitude and the eagerness to learn and carve your career in HR.
You will also have:
- A relevant bachelor’s degree
- Proven 2-3 years’ experience in an HR advisory role, with a solid understanding of HR principles and practices.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound HR decisions.
- Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office applications.

Northpower is an electricity and fibre network provider for Whangarei and Kaipara, with more than 60,000 connected customers. We also provide contracting services to our partners - other network owners and operators across the North Island.
We have over 1,300 staff working together across 13 locations to keep the power on and the lights going for our customers.
Responsibilities:
Duo reporting to the P&C Managers, you’ll be responsible to work with our People Leaders to ensure that people process, program and systems are aligned to the business objectives.
In this busy and varied role, you will:
- Provide HR advice and support to employees and managers on various HR issues, including employee relations, performance management and policy interpretation.
- Assist with the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct investigations and resolve employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner.
- Coach and guide people leaders to support employee growth and development.
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Contribute to HR projects and initiatives to enhance the overall employee experience.
- Stay informed about HR best practices and industry trends.
- Work closely with the stakeholders and employees on site.
