The largest local government authority in Northern Australia, is now looking for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join the team in a temporary full-time basis until November 2024!

Responsibilities:

YOUR NEW ROLE

While keeping the customer at the heart of all activities, you will act as initial point of contact in the provision of accurate and high-quality advice on matters concerned with policy and procedure. You will contribute to strategic collaboration within the people and culture section and provide insight and coaching on all relevant industrial relations acts, state awards, and collective agreements. On a day-to-day basis, you will utilise your understanding of contemporary human resource management when interpreting awards and communicating strategy to stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, it is essential that you have:

  • Qualifications to a Bachelor level in Human Resources, Business, Law or similar relevant qualification/equivalent knowledge or experience.
  • Proven experience (4+ years) in an HR/ER Business Partnering role within a diverse, multidisciplined organisation.
  • Knowledge of contemporary human resource management practices, interpretation of legislation and industrial instruments and demonstrated ability to apply these to a broad range of HR issues in a complex environment.
  • Proven ability to educate, influence, coach, mentor and forge strong stakeholder relationships based on the provision of informed, sound advice that builds an environment of trust and respect.
  • ER Case management experience (including non-work related injuries) including utilising systems to record and track cases.
  • Experience in interpreting awards and position descriptions for the evaluation of roles
