About the Job
The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in providing exceptional employee experience. Someone who can understand the big picture and love executing on all of the details to support it. You’re a creative, out-of-the-box thinker who is willing to help us implement policies, execute projects and take care of all the day-to-day operational and office management responsibilities.
Please note the location for this role is Victoria, BC.
Some tasks you will be taking on
People & Culture
Support full-cycle recruitment tasks including initial screenings, scheduling interviews and preparing documentation as needed
Responsible for onboarding and offboarding tasks
Support Benefits administration including enrolment, termination and other paperwork as needed
Write, edit, and maintain documentation pertaining to policies and procedures
Organize company lunches and events as needed
Maintain Google Drive, confluence and assist with paperwork
Keep our website up to date with new hire photos and title changes
Source and order swag, and maintain inventory
Run the Joint Health & Safety Committee (Wellness Room, First Aid)
Create and distribute monthly People & Talent newsletter
Other projects and tasks as assigned by the People & Culture team
Office Management
Vendor liaison and point of contact for building and sublease
Oversee the shipping and receiving functions
Furniture organization and preparing new hire setups
Track and maintain staff parking
Check mail each week and deposit bank cheques
Keep the office & facilities stocked and full of essentials
Maintain kitchen and stock all food and snacks
Ideally, you should have
1-3 years of demonstrated experience in people operations
Post-secondary education in a relevant field
Strong communication skills through email, phone, and face-to-face methods
Openness to work in a high-paced and ever-changing environment
Good judgment and ability to balance the needs of the company and employees
Resourceful in finding solutions and bringing recommendations forward
Understanding of Employment Standards Act (preferable)
Working towards CPHR (preferable)
