Description:

WHAT TRAIL NEEDS:

Our People & Culture team is currently seeking a People & Culture Coordinator. This position reports to the Director of People and Culture. The person in this position will play a support role on all administrative and operational tasks of the People & Culture department by assisting with progressive discipline documents, investigations and maintaining recognition programs and other P&C projects.
In this role, you will split your time between the HR generalist functions and recruitment while providing guidance on a range of HR-related topics and contributing to projects related to the development and implementation of Trail’s HR programs. This role is hybrid with our head office in Richmond.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage HR documentation including but not limited to offers of employment, promotions, transfers, compensation adjustments and termination notices. This involves filing, data entry and maintaining employee records that comply with company policies and regulations.
  • Responsible for full-cycle recruitment; posting positions, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, sourcing both active and passive candidates. Assist with resume screening, candidate pre-screening, coordinating interview logistics, reference checks and communicating with all candidates.
  • Support in employee discipline and termination, including coaching and guidance, and the preparation of all paperwork.
  • Coordinate all new hire onboarding activities as outlined in the Team Onboarding Checklist, including preparing new hire paperwork, coordinating orientation and info sessions, and facilitating the completion of required forms.
  • Support the offboarding process by collecting company property, conducting exit interviews, final vacation calculation & reporting and processing termination paperwork.
  • Develop and execute employee engagement initiatives, events, and activities to promote a positive work culture.
  • Assist the leadership team by providing timely communications on the Performance Review cycle, sends quarterly check in calendar reminders, and supports the coordination of year-end evaluations.
  • Support conflict resolution and performance issues by suggesting tactics, participating in discussions, and assisting with documentation.
  • Conduct and support workplace investigations by gathering information, conducting interviews, document findings, collaborating with relevant stakeholders and report writing.
  • Assist with research on best practices, developing HR policies, creating, and implementing HR projects and programs.
  • Collaborate with the administration of the compensation review process by coordinating salary evaluations and updating market and internal data
  • Execute HR reporting activities by gathering data, preparing monthly HR metrics, and conducting data analysis as needed.
  • Administer and distribute employee service awards
