Description:

If so, there is an exciting opportunity awaiting you as the People and Culture Coordinator (PCC) at Manning Park Resort (MPR). Reporting to the Senior Manager, People & Culture, the PCC is an individual who understands what motivates, engages and discourages people. You are an excellent communicator with knowledge and experience regarding current labour laws, health and safety practices, policy development and implementation, as well as identifying talent. You are an “outside the box” thinker looking for new ways to achieve desired outcomes and seeking an opportunity to grow your career in an amazing mountain resort location.
Maybe you have held a junior HR role and you’re ready for a step up with more responsibility? This opportunity is positioned to grow within 6-12 months into a Manager’s role for the right person. This is a year-round position, and we are looking to fully support and mentor the right person looking for a long-term growth opportunity. With a salary in the $55,000-$58,000 range, plus free private housing worth approximately $18,000 in value, and other extended benefits, this is a compensation package valued close to $80,000.
This is a year round position, with a minimum 1 year commitment required. At this time, we will only be interviewing those candidates with the existing legal authority to work in Canada.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years in a Human Resources/People & Culture role
  • Experience using an HRIS is required; we use Payworks so that would be an asset
  • CPHR designation, or an education in HR practices is a bonus
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently to meet resort needs
  • Excellent communication skills, as well as excellent problem-solving abilitie

Responsibilities:

  • Support and be involved in MPR’s recruiting and hiring initiatives
  • Manage the onboarding and off-boarding procedures
  • Assist in enhancing workplace environments to increase employee satisfaction
  • Manage staff conflicts, including mediating and resolving issues such as bullying and harassment in the workplace
  • Support the administration of the Occupational Health and Safety committee
  • Work with Managers on seasonal and year-round hiring requirements and planning
  • Facilitate arrivals and orientations of incoming staff
  • Manage, distribute and collect MPR’s uniform inventory to staff
  • Support foreign staff with work permit logistics, visa extensions, and advancing long term status in Canada
  • Manage & submit Worksafe claims and information in a timely manner and liaise with Worksafe where required
  • Work with our Staff Housing Manager on staff housing assignments
  • Maintain employment records for all staff
  • Provide onsite support to Manager and Employees for all HR needs
