We continue to grow and today are looking for a committed, talented, star to join our team as our People & Values Generalist.

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

People & Values are at the heart of all Riverside Natural Foods’ daily operations when it comes to their employees and their success. The People & Values (P&V) team are both strategic and operational partners that co-pilot the business through developing and implementing people strategies to increase employee engagement and organizational capability.
Riverside Natural Foods is currently seeking a new People & Values Generalist to join their People & Values team, supporting our Plant Operations for our Sheppard and Rexdale locations.
The successful candidate for this position would be a culture champion who enjoys driving change, bringing new ideas that will assist in building leadership capabilities and driving engagement.

On a day-to day basis, the People & Values Generalist will be accountable for the following;

  • Support, collaborate, and advise People Leaders on diverse employee relation issues related to performance management, attendance management, and progressive coaching initiatives, conducting investigations into matters as needed
  • Provide advice and guidance regarding the administration, interpretation and application of company policies and procedures for the individuals designated client group
  • Monitor employee engagement and retention and suggest recommendations as needed to better improve the employee experience that aligns with the company values
  • Support employees with leave administration, providing timely updates to all key Plant Leadership on return-to-work updates and general progress of events
  • Maintain and foster relationships to enable collaboration with all levels of the organization ensuring a high level of customer service is provided, and ensuring that every employee has an alternate channel to raise any concerns
  • Track, document, and ensure all applicable paperwork is completed for organizational changes, including promotions, and transfers for designated client group
  • Work alongside the People & Values Operation team to conduct systems audits of the HRIS to ensure data integrity and the accuracy of employee-related data
  • Organize, streamline, and oversee the onboarding process for new hires into the company
  • Prepare and facilitate training on multiple shifts as required for P&V related topics including systems, programs, and policies for all varying levels within the organization
  • Must be flexible to spend time (minimum of 2 days per month) and support teams on multiple shifts (day, afternoon, night) and as requests arise.

Education & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in an HR capacity preferably within an HR Generalist role
  • Previous experience managing a client group, including experience with employee relations
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing or Plant Operations would be considered an asset
  • Strong understanding and application of employment law and legislation
  • Completed University Degree or College Diploma/Certificate in Human Resources Management
  • Relevant and related fields may also be considered
